How cool is the Chopsticks cut file from Just Nick? You can get it for free by visiting the Creative Scrappers page. Often times, I'm creating things in my head before I ever get to my craft room. In the shower, driving, eating...all good places to plan creative projects. :) I thought of a few different ways I could use the cut file, but finally decided on doing a couple of shaker strips.
The first step was to layout out the chopsticks in Silhouette Studio where I wanted them and then cutting it out from white textured cardstock on my Cameo. I also trimmed some strips of different papers from the Heart collection to back the cuts, but I left two open for the shaker strips.
And how fun to finally use my We R Memory Keepers Fuse tool! I started with two strips from a page protector. The first one already had a seam since it was the edge, and then I used the Fuse tool to create seams on the 2 sides and then three sides for the 2nd strip, leaving one side open for my confetti. I used my old Martha Stewart Punch All Over the Page confetti hearts punch to make some hearts and added star sequins, regular sequins, and other little goodies. I fused the last side for each shaker strip and then tucked it under the white cardstock.
I added a few of the confetti hearts around on the page as well!
For the title, I used the alpha stickers and the "everyday" Simple Stories cut file from the Silhouette store. I cut "everyday" several times and glued them together to create my own "chipboard" word, and then I sewed to underscore the word. I popped another little heart confetti in the dot of the "i".
I usually make a point to journal on my pages. For this page, I tucked some private journaling behind the photo of my dad, and sewed a sticker tag to create a pull.
