Hello crafty friends! Here in Houston, it is hot...like, REALLY hot. So it's a good time for sharing summery layouts, and today I'm excited to share my first post on the Paper House Productions Design Team with you!!
In 2009, we went to a relative's destination wedding in Puerto Vallarta. Traveling with a 9-month old on an airplane was interesting!! My little guy ate his way through Cheerios and Yogurt Melts there and back! :p While there, we had some family photos taken, and we enjoyed feeling the sand on our toes that day.
How fun is this watercolored paper with the palm trees? I used it as my base, but I wanted some "sand", so I trimmed a strip from another paper from the same collection (Sun Drenched), cut with Martha Stewart Fringe Scissors, and sewed along the bottom.
Sun Drenched also goes with the fabulous 3D Stickers, and you can see the "Beach" one from the Boardwalk stickers above as well as the palm tree below. Such fun texture!!! And I used a journaling sticker and some of the cardstock multipack stickers to showcase in the "sand".
I used both the Sun Drenched alpha stickers for my title, and added in a few sequins and enamel dots.
But my favorite part of the layout is my stitched sun. I used the JustNick cutfile Sunny Days, stitched through every other ray, and then layered another 3D sticker in the middle - "Seas the Day"...what a perfect phrase for this beach layout!!
These 3D stickers are great for adding additional texture to your layouts. I hope you're inspired to add some to your stash today to create with.
Please follow me on Instagram for additional projects.
Have a great weekend!

Happy Tuesday, friends! I hope you are enjoying your summer. If you are like me, you probably have a past trip that you hold dear to your heart. For me and my family, that place is Banff, Alberta, Canada - we went a little over two years ago. It's *stunning*. Really. And someday we want to go back. Because I love the area so much, I used a JustNick cut file called Free Love for my large title.
I have some close ups on the JustNick Studios blog today, so please go check them out to see the details, the other cut file used, and a tip for creating contrast with cut files.
So glad you joined me today! Have a super week.

Hello crafty friends, happy Fri-yay!
My very first Design Team layout for JustNick Studios is up, and I am SO excited to share it with you! I've followed Nicole's free cut files for many years as she worked with Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine, and I placed my first JustNick order two short days after she opened her store a little over three years ago! So, I'm geeking out a little LOT being on her Design Team. :)
I used the Simple Stories I Am... collection, Distress Oxide ink and other inks, and the following JustNick cut files:
Go check out the JustNick blog for close ups of my layout, and then stop by the JustNick store to pick out some of your favorites!!
Enjoy a crafty weekend!
